Christmas Carols at Easkey Health Centre
On Thursday 16th December Colaiste Iascaigh’s choir along with Ms. Hennigan visited Easkey Health Centre to sing Christmas Carols for those attending the centre. This annual event always brings great excitement to the students and those attending the Health Centre. The choir had put in time rehearsing and the day was a great success. Those that attend the centre also enjoy singing songs and it is an enjoyable day for students and older people to share their Christmas experiences with each other. Colaiste Iascaigh would like to thank Easkey Health Centre for their kindness and hospitality on the day.

Karl Henry visits Colaiste Iascaigh for LCVP Visit In
The 5th Year LCVP class as part of their portfolio must plan a Visit to the school.
Our LCVP class invited Karl Henry from Karl Henry Fitness, he has also been on Operation Transformation as the fitness instructor and has his own TV show with Bernard Dunne on RTE called Ultimate Street Challenge, and this series is being broadcast at the moment.
Karl Henry is an entrepreneur who saw a gap in the market and proceeded to fill this gap and develop a brand that is now known all around the country.
Karl came and spoke to the students about being an entrepreneur, setting up his business and how they too could go about setting up a business. He gave them great advice and also doubled as a motivational speaker which was very beneficial with the Leaving Cert looming ahead.
The 5th Yr LCVP class along with their teacher Ms.Byrne would like to say a big thank you to Karl Henry for making the trip from Dublin to Colaiste Iascaigh to talk to the 5th Years students.

Congratulations to all 1st year students who participated in the JCSP Reading Challenge. All students worked very hard and thoroughly enjoyed the literacy initiative. Well done! The students are looking forward to the JCSP Christmas Celebration evening, where they will be presented with their awards. They will also make a presentation to their parents. The presentation will include information about the school work and activities they have been involved in since September. Best of luck to all involved.
Water Treatment Plant Visit:
As part of the Green Schools Programme all First and Second Year students visited The Water Treatment Plant in Lough Easkey. They were accompanied by Ms. Cawley and Ms. Sherlock. There they were met by Mr. Declan Keaveney who took them on a very informative tour of the plant. In the lab they saw the quality of water coming into the plant and how it was changed by different processes. The plant sends water to nine local reservoirs and they supply homes with clean drinking water.
